LPKR-controlled Siloam Hospitals added to MSCI Small Cap Index, validating LPKR’s focus on healthcare and Siloam’s strong performance

15 November 2021

Jakarta - PT Lippo Karawaci Tbk ("LPKR" or "Company"), Indonesia’s leading real estate and healthcare platform based on total assets and revenue was advised that PT Siloam Hospitals, Tbk. was added to the MSCI Small Cap Index last Friday. Since Siloam’s new management was appointed in 2019 the Company’s business and share price have displayed consistent positive movement. The Company is on pace for record EBITDA of more than Rp1.8tn, record EBITDA margins of over 28.9% and net profit of over Rp700bn.

Siloam offers the largest network of hospitals across Indonesia and the highest revenue per patient metrics among peers, while 55.4% owned by Lippo Karawaci. The addition of Siloam to the MSCI Small Cap Index represents further validation of LPKR’s growth trajectory and the Company’s plan to focus on two industry-leading core businesses, property and healthcare.

Since January 1, 2019 SILO’s share price has increased by 2.4x and its market capitalization is now nearly Rp14 trillion, the best performing hospital stock in Indonesia over that period of time. The Company has benefitted from the Covid-19 pandemic though historically high EBITDA performance supporting profit expansion. Furthermore, the base case revenue and EBITDA was higher in September than in any other month this year, a rapid improvement as Indonesians returned to hospitals for elective procedures.

Companies added to the MSCI Small Cap Index must display a 3-month ATVR and frequency of trading are at least 5% and 70% respectively for Emerging Markets and a foreign inclusion factor of more than 0.15. For a security to be added to the Small Cap Index, the free float-adjusted market capitalization must be at least 50% of the Small Cap Interim Size-Segment Cutoff.
